What is Telacity?

Telacity is a website where people can share videos of interesting, fun places in their cities. The idea is to show what each city has to offer to a potential visitor or a new resident. Users can upload videos or video blogs showing interesting, fun places and can categorize the videos into several categories so that the videos can be found with ease. On the other hand, the users can look up the videos by using simple drop down menus or the search feature. Users do not need to sign up to view videos, however an account is needed for uploading videos and other features.

 

How to join?

If you are interested in joining Telacity, go to the "Sign up" page, choose your username and password, and enter your information. Fields with asterisk next to them are mandatory. Review the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy by clicking on the links and then place a checkmark into "I have read and accept Terms of Use and Privacy Policy" box, and click on "Sign Up" button. After registering, a confirmation email will be sent to your email account that you provided. You will need to go to your email and click on "Confirm your email address" link within that email. You can also copy and paste the provided link into your browser if you prefer. Afterward you'll be directed to a confirmation page, and you can immediately begin exploring the site! If you don't receive the confirmation email within a few minutes, be sure to check your spam folder to make sure it wasn't misfiled. Upon completing the registration, the users will be allocated 100 MB of free space per account to store the videos.

 

Viewing videos

You can view videos in three ways:
1.)If you know what you're looking for, you can type keywords into the "Search" box
2.)You can use scroll down menus to find videos of interest by selecting the "Country", "City", "Category", and "Subcategory" (Restaurants, Events, and Other only), and then clicking the "Go" button
3.)By clicking on any link ("Restaurants", "Bars", "Clubs", etc.) Once inside, you can focus your search on city, country, category, and type by changing the selection in drop down menu.
 

Uploading videos

Please make sure that the video(s) that you want to upload are smaller than 100MB, and are in an acceptable format (.wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpg).
1.)Click "Upload Video(s)" link at the top right corner.
2.)Log in.
3.)Once on the "Upload Video(s)" page, enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title, Description, Website for the category that the video is for (if applicable), City, Country, Address, Category and Subcategory (Restaurants, Other, Events only). Fields with asterisk next to them are mandatory. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video.
4.)In the "File Browse" window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
5.)In order to upload videos, you will need to accept the terms of use and privacy policy.
6.)Review Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
7.)Place a checkmark into the "I have read and accept Terms of Use and Privacy Policy" box.
8.)Click the "Upload" button.
 

Removing video(s)

1.)Log in
2.)Click on "My Account".
3.)Click on "My Videos".
4.)Click on the "Remove Video" button and click on "Yes" from the confirmation box.
 

Editing video information

1.)Log in
2.)Click on "My Account"
3.)Click on "My Videos"
4.)Click on the "Edit Information" button
5.)Make changes
6.)Click on "Save"
 

Rating place(s)

1.)Click on any globe.
2.)Log in
3.)Click on the globe that reflects your rating and the place will be rated. More globes means higher rating.
 

Sharing video(s)

1.)Click on "Share Video"
2.)Log in
3.)Type an email address in the "Email To:" box, or place a checkmark next to the address that you want to send the video link to.
4.)Enter the message for the recipient (optional)
5.)Enter your name (optional)
6.)Click on "Send"
 

Saving video(s) to your Playlist

1.)Click on "Add to Playlist"
2.)Log in
3.)The video will be saved in your Playlist
 

Flagging video(s)

1.) Click on "Flag as Inappropriate"
2.) Log in
3.) Select the reason
4.) Click on "Flag"
 

Commenting on video(s)

1.) Click on "Comment"
2.) Log in
3.) Write your comment
4.) Click on "Post Comment" button
 

Changing setting in your account

1.)Click on "Log in"
2.)Click on "My Account"
3.)Click on "Change Settings"
4.)Change the information
5.)Click on "Save Changes"
 

Closing an account

1.)Click on "Log In"
2.)Click on "My Account"
3.)Click on "Close Account"
4.)Click on "Yes" to confirm
Please keep in mind that all of your information and videos, will be deleted from the website.
 

Making Telacity a better website

1.) Click on "Suggestions"
2.) Log in
3.) Fill out the necessary information
4.) Type in your suggestion
5.) Click on "Submit"
